Green Day is a very interesting band. The band started out as an underground band in California. Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt were the original members of the band, but along the way they found Al Sobrante and Tre Cool. Billie Joe Armstrong is the amazing vocalist and guitar player, Mike Dirnt is the bass player, and Al Sobrante was the drummer, but got replaced by Tre Cool and he got the permanent job of the drummer. Billie and Mike were both born in California and Tre was born in Frankfurt, Germany. Billie was born on February 17, 1972, Mike was born on May 4, 1972, and Tre was born on December 9, 1972. Billieπs music career started at the age of 5 when he started to sing to the patients of hospitals to make them feel better. Mikeπs music career started at the age of 15 when he moved into Billieπs house. Treπs music career started at the age of 12 when he started to play with The Lookouts. Their influences and favorite bands or singers were Ozzy Osbourne, Def Leppard, and Van Halen. Some of their hit albums were Dookie, Insomniac, and Nimrod. I personally like their songs because it is easy to sing along with and they express their feelings by playing these awesome chords and beats. Some of my favorite songs are Basket Case and Jesus of Suburbia. My favorite member of the band is Tre because he is a drummer and I am too. Also, he is my favorite member of the band because he started playing at a young age like me. Green Day influenced the music industries by making punk music popular. Some interesting facts were that Billie and Mike started a band before Green Day, called Sweet Children at the age of 18. After a few years when Tre joined, they named it to Green Day. I have learned many things about Green Day from this project and I thank Dr. Frankel for giving us this project because it helps me understand more than the music the band plays, but the history of the band.

This is the album Dookie and it was released in 1994. Dookie was the album that made Green Day famous and well-known in the music industries.
